What Games are going to Storm the rest of 2020?

2020 has been an incredibly tough year. It has led to a change in how we live for a vast number of people. One of the most significant areas that has changed is how we have used online casinos. It’s caused some big changes in what’s available to players. There have been many New Jersey online sportsbook sites that have had to implement changes to still offer services to players. We’ve taken a look at what has stepped up to give players as many options as possible in the post-COVID world.

E-Sports

E-sports has become almost the go-to betting choice for many online gambling providers. Because regular sports were postponed for quite a while, it meant that something had to step into the void. E-sports was ready to fill that gap. It created a new interest in video game competitions from mainstream bettors and meant that sportsbooks and online casinos were offering more e-sports betting options than ever before.

While it’s expected that the return of regular sports will cause a slight drop off in e-sports viewership and betting, it is also likely to have kept some of its new audience. It’s not guaranteed to become the next big thing, but one thing is for sure -the pandemic has accelerated the growth of e-sports as a viable mainstream competition.

Virtual Sports

It wasn’t quite as big an explosion in interest as e-sports, but virtual sports still saw an increase in interest. It is a simulation of a real sporting event that allows players the opportunity to place a wager. It doesn’t have the large scale statistics in place that real sports have, but the chance to place a bet on what, for all intents and purposes, was an actual sporting event was too much to miss for some people.

The enjoyment of this meant that a lot of people found an affinity with the virtual sports world. It’s unlikely that this will overtake real sporting events, but it is safe to say that virtual sports are here to stay and will always be an option for players.

Online Poker

Online poker has been around in the world for a long time. However, it has always taken a back seat to the excitement of real-life, face-to-face games. This year was the first time that things moved the other way. With the breakout of travel restrictions and lockdowns, it meant that the World Series of Poker 2020 was postponed.

However, it wasn’t canceled. It was just moved online. The realization that poker could be almost as good online as in real life meant that many more players moved to the online arena. There will be very little that will ever compete with real-life poker, but more people than ever are enjoying the online variant, and this is likely to continue through the rest of 2020 and beyond.

Obviously, there are plenty of other games out there that have grown in stature due to the events throughout the start of 2020,but these are the main ones. They have certainly seen significant growth and a movement toward becoming more mainstream occupations.
